Frequently Asked Questions

General

What is an Apogee School?

An Apogee follows Montessori style principles to learning where kids choose their own activities and work at their own pace in a prepared environment. Most Montessori style schools stop at age 6. We take those principles and extend them through all learning.

The family is in charge of customizing their curriculum with their kids. It is mixing the value received from home schooling children with the added benefits of socializing the kids with other students with similar values. Also, without the parents having to implement and track the curriculum themselves.

What ages do you serve?

Students ages 5–12.

Where is Apogee East Cobb located?

Marietta, Georgia. Contact us for our exact address and visit scheduling.

Academics

How do students progress without traditional grade structures?

Students move forward when they demonstrate understanding and readiness. This allows children to advance quickly in strengths and receive additional support where needed.

How much physical activity is included?

Physical activity is a daily part of the schedule and supports discipline, focus, and health. Movement is not an add-on — it's a core part of how we learn.

How is student progress measured?

Through demonstrated understanding, mentorship check-ins, and portfolio work — not standardized testing alone.

What curriculum do you use?

Parents are encouraged to choose the curriculum they would like to use. We give guidance and do have a default one that can be chosen.

Admissions

What is the admissions process?

Families complete an inquiry, questionnaire, and alignment conversation before enrollment. The process is personal and family-centered.

Can students return to public school later?

Yes. Families can transition back to traditional schools if they choose.

When do you accept applications?

We accept applications on a rolling basis. Spots are limited — we encourage early inquiry.

Community

How involved are parents expected to be?

Highly involved. Apogee is a family-partnership model. Parents are expected to stay connected to their child's progress and participate in the their education. We are building a community that will raise our children. This does involve the parents.

Are you a faith-based community?

We are a faith-informed community. We do live by a code that is open to all faiths. Spiritual beliefs is something that should be led by the family with the education experience enhanced by our campus.
